This urn is made from Black Walnut and rare Curly Black Walnut. The accents on the top are provided by bands of Roasted Curly Maple and Zebrawood, separated and defined by black veneer.

Except for black veneer, no stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo micro-porous wood oil. The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 11.8" x 9.8" x 4.0" (29.9 x 24.8 x 10.2 cm).

Internal dimensions are about 9.5" x 7.5" x 3.0" (24.1 x 19.1 x 7.6 cm).

Internal capacity is 200 cubic inches ( 3.3 L).

Access is from bottom which is secured with 12 screws.

Exterior:

The sides are made from a single board with waterfall mitre joints. That allows the natural pattern of the wood grain to flow all the way around the urn. Grain is matched on three corners.

Mitred corners reinforced with Black Walnut keys.

Sides are solid 3/4" (19 mm) thick Black Walnut

Top is made from solid 1/2" (12.7 mm) rare Curly Black Walnut with bands of Roasted Curly Maple and Zebrawood, separated and defined by black veneer.
