This small jewelry box had a theme of "Violet". Purpleheart fit nicely. Even found violet coloured velveteen to line the interior.

This box is made from Curly Maple with legs of Purpleheart. Accents on the top are provided by bands of Purpleheart. The stylized letter 'V' inlaid on top is also Purpleheart.

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with Osmo TopOil, an odourless hardwax-oil product. The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing. Interior components (trays, dividers) are also finished with Osmo TopOil.

Dimensions (approximate): 

Overall exterior dimensions are about 10.3" x 7.3" x 3.8"  (26.0 x 18.4 x 9.5 cm)

The compartments in the lower level are about 1" (2.5 cm) deep. The inside dimensions of the compartments are about:-
(one) 5.3" x 4.0"   ( 13.3 x 10.2 cm)
(two) 2.5" x 4.0"   ( 6.4 x 10.2 cm)

The removable tray is about 0.8" (1.9 cm) deep.  It has four compartments, each about 2.4" x 1.8" (6.0 x 4.5 cm)

Exterior:

	Inlaid Purpleheart letter on top. The inlay was done by John Murphy Tapered Purpleheart legs. Sides are 3/8 " (9.5  mm) thick Curly Maple. Top is made from laminated pieces of Curly Maple and Purpleheart, about 1/2" (13 mm) thick.

Interior:

Brass butt hinges.

Lining is a plush velveteen fabric.

Tray and dividers are made from Maple
