The
puzzle-tops on our stools and
storage chests
are designed to be not
just a puzzle, but an adventure. Each character is complete -- no
fish, bear, or flower is cut up. That way the puzzle pieces can be played with
independently of the stool or chest.
Stools
stand
about 8" high and have a top about 10" x 14".
Chests
stand
about 8" high and have a top about 10" x 14". The inside dimensions of the storage chest are about
8" x 12" and about 7" deep. The chests have completely
removable tops and have hand grips cut through the sides to make them
easy to carry.
The puzzle tops are Kathy's own designs. Each is
independently cut and hand painted by her.
The
stools and chests are built by Jim from 3/4" thick solid knotty
pine. Glue, dowels and biscuits are used to ensure
strength and durability. The removable
puzzle is made 1/4" hardboard and is
recessed on the 3/4" plywood top of the stool or chest (note the pine border in the
above pictures).
The
stools and chests are not recommended for play by children under five years of age
without adult supervision.
