These were made to showcase works by Canadian artist, Frank Rodick. They were included in his exhibition, Labyrinth Of Desire, at the Fotofest Biennial 2010 at the Colton & Farb Gallery in Houston, Texas, USA (March 13 - April 24, 2010).

Five pairs of very thin (1.5") cases were made for this project. Each pair had bookmarked tops with the same accent wood. The tops of the interiors were lined with black suede-cloth. Frank's works, which had been face-mounted to 1/8" Plexiglas, were held in place with thin strips of mitred black walnut.

The centre panels on the tops and bottoms of the cases protrude about 1/8". When opened, the case lays perfectly flat and appears to float above the display surface, making a dramatic presentation.
