The interior of this beautiful jewelry chest has ample space for earrings, cuff links, necklaces, bracelets and watches. The one tray has ten padded inserts, each of which can accommodate two rings, earrings, or cuff links. There are two compartments with handmade pillows for watches or bracelets.

This box was made from an Santos Rosewood, a premium hardwood from Tropical South America (mainly Brazil and Bolivia). Colour is highly varied, ranging from reddish/orange to a dark violet/brown, with contrasting darker black streaks. The centre of the top is a bookmarked piece of Santos Rosewood, framed by bands of Santos Rosewood, each separated and defined by strips of Padauk veneer.

The box sits on a recessed base of Santos Rosewood.

The drawer sides and dividers in the interior are made from solid Black Walnut.

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo micro-porous wood oil. The resultant low-lustre finish is smooth, durable, and appealing. Trays, dividers and supports are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin.

Exterior:

	Recessed finger lift under drawer Corner posts are Santos Rosewood, with Padauk veneer where they join the sides of the box. Sides are solid 1/2" (13 mm) thick Santos Rosewood
Top is made from solid woods into an assembly about 1/4" (6 mm) thick and laminated to 1/4" (6 mm) plywood. This construction prevents warping of the top.

 

Interior:

The premium grade mirror is taped to the interior side of the plywood, and secured with glued strips of Santos Rosewood around its edges.

Nickel-plated brass quadrant hinges.

Drawer sides, trays and dividers are solid Black Walnut

Interior is lined with luxurious velveteen woven fabric. Padded inserts and pillows are covered in the same material.
