This box was made from Santos Rosewood. The top has a unique piece of Maple burl, framed by bands of Santos Rosewood, each separated and defined by strips of Maple veneer.

The drawer sides and dividers in the interior are made from solid Black Walnut.

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 12.5" x 9.1" x 5"  (31.2 x 23.2 x 12.7 cm)

One tray has one half-size compartment and one with 8 padded inserts. The other tray has six equal-sized compartments.

The  area below the trays is divided into one half-width compartment and six equal-sized comaprtments.

The drawer is similarly configured into one large and six small compartments.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin. Exterior is further finished with a three-stage wax process, the final stage being carnauba.  The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.

Exterior:

	Solid brass drawer pulls with Maple burl inserts. Mitred corners reinforced with Maple burl keys Sides are solid 1/2" (13 mm) thick Santos Rosewood
Top is made from solid woods into an assembly about 1/2" (13 mm) thick. It is then re-sawn into two pieces about 1/8" (3mm) thick which are laminated to both sides of 1/4" (6 mm) plywood. This construction not only makes the interior of the top as attractive as the exterior, but also prevents warping of the top.

 

Interior:

Solid brass quadrant hinges.

Drawer sides, trays and dividers are solid Black Walnut.

Interior is lined with luxurious velveteen.
